A Stitcher’s Garden Book: mixed media embroidered journal

6week tutorial – 6 sessions BACK by popular demand!
Open to ALL levels of proficiency, $85 Click Buy Now and let’s begin your adventure!!
For years I’ve watched artists & crafters grow restless as they consider their supplies with an adventurous eye… and I have often heard the question, “How can I add my stitching to a book project?” A Stitcher’s Garden Book is the answer. Join me for 6 sessions over 6weeks, and I’ll show you how to create your own original stitched garden book.
We’ll begin by choosing a bound book as our base, and we will collect our treasures and special thingy things. Then we’ll set out on our journey. Together we’ll mix media, get inspired, and GO stitch up the place!

In the same way that so many of us plant and tend our food and flower gardens with care and excitement, we will use garden themes, mixed media exercises, image and text, and stitch to grow something very special. With departure points such as Nests & Trees, Critters & Crawlies, Flowers Vines & Climbers, and Winged Things & Wee Folk, we’ll build a garden that’s uniquely your own — without ever leaving your comfy chair! Techniques include paper dyeing, handmade paper, insertions & cutouts, dimensional stitch & light wirework, underpainting & collage, flower pressing & fabric collage… and MORE!!!
If the idea of a Secret Garden, or Stepping Through a Garden Gate, or the prospect of unifying your green thumb and your stitching fingers sets your imagination loose… then this is the class for you!
Available exclusively through the Fiber Art Mixed Media Online Tutorials, Open to ALL levels of proficiency, $85 Click Buy Now and let’s begin your adventure!! Class registration opens October 1, 2010 — First class is set for Saturday, October 23 and will run 6 Saturdays through November 27. Classes will be online & available until December 31st. If you wish to register late, that’s OK! Just jump in at any point in October – November – December & I’ll catch you up to wherever we are!
THANK YOU to everyone enrolled in the Winter 2009 & Spring 2010 course – I LOVE this series!!
